Today at weigh in she was 13 lbs. and 2 oz., getting fatty! I LOVE IT!!

Our Swinging Day!

Katie and I took advantage of the 80 degree day by heading to our neighborhood swingset and having some fun. Luckily my friend Mandy and her boys Chase and Mark (little guy in this picture) came along to keep us company and take some pictures. She has an issue with wind blowing in her face, she gulps air every gust, so we only stayed out for about 15 minutes. I guess we have to work on that!!

My First Solid!

Katie had her first taste of big kid food today at 10:30am. She ended up having about 5 spoonfuls of her rice cereal before she had enough and wanted her bottle. I guess she got the taste of formula in her mouth and wondered why it wasn't continually coming, got ticked and decided she was done. She used her special spoon that her Grandpa Sylvanus bought when she was born and some cups that her cousin Allison bought for her. We will try again tomorrow and see if we have any more success, I hear it takes about a week for them to understand solid foods?

Katie is starting to drool a bit, we are wondering if teeth are on the way or if she's just a frothy kinda gal?!
She couldn't stop looking at the flowers which I thought was hilarious but I guess the funny is in the eye of the beholder because it really isn't all THAT funny.

My baby can read!!! Obviously I'm kidding but this was too cute! She can usually hold the book for about 5 seconds before she forgets what she's doing and drops it on the floor. Also in this picture you can tell she's really looking at the book, with intensity, which I like!

Guess Who's 4 Months Old

Our big girl is 4 months old today! I can't believe that she has been with us that long already and oddly enough one year ago I wasn't even pregnant. As you can see she is getting some needed fat on her bones and she is really grabbing at books and toys ,Mommy's hair, whatever she can get her hands on to. Well we are knee deep in play time here so I have to run.........

Katie's Baptism

Katie was Baptized this past Sunday, March 4th at the 11 o'clock service at First Presbyterian Church of York with Dr. John Morgan presiding as pastor. She was fantastic, not only didn't she cry but she actually giggled at the celing lights in the church during the 20 minute sermon. Go figure?! She did start gettting a bit agitated during the end of the service so Nat and I took her out of the chuch and walked around the building a bit and to our surprise she fell fast asleep. Unbelievable, I was so scared she was going to be nutty and she was an angel..........I'll post more pictures as I get them, there were about 30 family members with cameras so I'm sure I'll get more soon!

In other Katie news she will be 4 months old on Thursday, can you believe it! She had her 4 month exam last Tuesday (her shot schedule is wacky because of her being a preemie.) She weighed in at 11 lbs. 7.5 oz. and measured in at 23.25 inches. Her head grew 2 inches in circumference, which Nat and I both could tell from holding her all of the time. She is developmentally on schedule too, which is always something that is up in the air for premature babies, but Katie is holding her head, grabbing for things, and babbeling up a storm. GO KATE! Ok well I am still working on cleaning up from yesterdays festivities so while she's in her swing I better hop to it! Have a good week!

Katie recieved a new favorite toy a rainforrest themed jumperoo, thanks Paul and Sandy! Man is this thing cool; even though she is too small to really get a good bounce going she loves the bright colors and the ceiling fan now has heavy competition in the red parrott for Katie's affection. With the help of a 12-pack of soda for standing she did get a good sway going and she stayed in it for almost 20 minutes and then passed out, yay for Momma! You will be seeing a lot more pictures with the jumperoo involved!

Katie can sit in her chair forever now, well maybe not forever, but at least 10 minutes or so. I take the chair around the house with me and in a pinch I'll set her in it while I'm doing stuff, she likes the different perspective.

Katie at 3 Months

Katie is three whole months old today, can you believe it!! We will have her offical weigh in tonight at bath time so tomorrow I will post more information and pictures; this smile just couldn't wait!

Katie at 12 weeks

We have been working on Katie's neck strength and movement. She is able to keep her head up for some time now and also able to sit in her seat for a few minutes at a time. Today she actually picked her head up when it slumped down, what a champ!! She is getting bigger, 9 lbs. 14.5 oz. as of last night. I can't believe that a week from today she will be 3 months old, she has changed so much and yet she is still so small. She goes back to the doctor at the end of this month for her 4 month check-up, more shots and this time we are hoping to be on the growth charts!! In other developmental news she is smiling a whole bunch and she is working on laughing, she gets all wound up and then sighs, no giggles yet. Her eyes are still blue although they are getting flecks of green and brown in them so I think she is going to have her daddy's hazel eyes. Her hair is still coming in brown but some people think there is some dark red mixed in there too, I guess when you mix English, Italian, German, Scottish, Polish and Lithuanian together you get an Irish looking baby?!!
