Well we thought we were going to get a little bit more snow than this pitance but it's enough for Katie to play. Make sure you check out the rosey cheeks in the last picture, it's in the 20's here so even bundled up she still froze her little tush off!

Woo-Hoo!!
I swear this Bounce and Spin Zebra is the best; Katie get's so fired up at the thing that she starts speaking in tounges and screaming like she's posessed. Ok that makes it sound like a devilish toy but it's really just gets the crazy out of her, which is a very good thing.
We're in Print Baby!!!

Happy Friday!
Well today was another exciting Friday!!
Katie has really, really dry skin and today she just could not stop scratching herself; her back, legs and chest were covered with raised bumps and scratch marks. I felt so badly for her that I called her doctor to see what, besides all of the creams and lotions that we are currently using, could help her. Of course even though they have seen her before for Execma they had to make sure it wasn't anything contagious so off to the doctors office we went.
Surprise, surprise; it was Execma.
We left the doctor with the same instructions that we always get, soap with every other bath, Eucerin cream all over before bedtime and this time we got some anti-itch medicine to give to her when the itching gets really bad. Of course besides the claw marks up and down her body she's just fine and today we did get actually get outside to do some running. Katie's new favorite thing to do is get the mail with me at lunch time, well I check the mail and Katie takes off down the sidewalk and laughs at me while I try to catch up.
(I guess she wasn't happy that I caught up to her so quickly!)

She made it!
Climbing the stairs....
Here is a video of Katie climbing the stairs, sure it's funny to watch her climb but the better reason to watch is all of the babbling she is doing. (coming down the stairs is hilarious!)

Morning Fun!
It has taken a while but within the past two days Katie has decided to begin exploring the stairs. Until now she has largely ignored them, or only gone up one stair and turned around and come back down, now it's up, up and away! It's not so much climbing up that causes problems as much as the coming down!
These pictures were all taken around 8:30am, when Katie decided to climb up three stairs to where I had placed some hair bows. She very much loves the bows so she had to climb up to get them and once she was up she judged the going down incorrectly and it was a quick decent. Kate knows to get on her butt and slide down the steps but that final step is always a doozie and somehow she lands on her back? (can't figure it out) Oh and the best part is while she was lying on her back crying, she was trying to give me her hair bow so I could put it in her hair; these pictures were taken after the fall. (Quick recovery as long as Mickey's on TV!)
And just so everybody doesn't think I'm a horrible parent, I was cleaning off her highchair from breakfast and in my defense I thought she was playing with her scooter in the hallway by the front door. I guess it's time to start gating the stairs!!

A Day At The Zoo
Today Katie, Nat, Grandma and Grandpa Burt and I went to Zoo America in Hershey. They were celebrating "Community Days", whatever that is, so admission was free at different tourist attractions in Hershey. The zoo was pretty packed and it was cloudy and 37 degrees outside so most outdoor animals were not very frisky or friendly. There were two bison out strutting around in a field so I lifted Katie up to see them, of course she didn't care about the huge, one ton animals, she saw some ducks playing in the creek below and shouted "Duckies" as loudly as she could. It was really cute.
They did have some indoor exhibits and the picture above is of Grandpa Burt trying to point out a jack rabbit to Katie. The one jack rabbit in the back was having some lunch when I walked over to the exhibit so I got to watch as it flung a dead mouse against the ground over and over while still holding on to it in his jaw. Exciting!!
We stayed at the zoo for about 45 minutes and then drove across the street to Chocolate World; do you like the picture of me and Kate in front of the wall of Reece's Pieces?! We didn't stay there too long, Katie decided she was done with her adventure, so we packed her back into the car and came home. While writing this I'm watching Katie's monitor as she sleeps soundly in her crib and Nat sleeping just as sound in the recliner, I guess the cold weather will do that to you!!
Oh and the other picture is of Katie with "Phil" the groundhog that her Grandparents got for her at the zoo, after all it is Groundhog Day and she needed something!!! (Can you tell she's the only Grandchild?!) It was a short, but fun outting; next time we hit the zoo I'll make sure the sun is out!!
Happy Groundhog Day!!
