Yummy Time!!

It's finally warm enough to say farewell to the oven and eat entirely off of the grill, man I love summer! As you can see last night for dinner we had some corn on the cob, which Katie kept calling popcorn, and hot dogs. (Mom and Dad had burgers, but she's more of a hot dog girl!) Maddux (and Sheri and Scott) was gone all week, on vacation in New England, so Katie was super excited to see him outside this afternoon.

Katie and Maddux decided to take turns pushing each other in the baby doll stroller, and somehow this all upset Katie a little and the whole experiment ended with tears.

My Mom got Katie this shark puppet about 2 months ago, what a find. The best part about sharky is that he chases her, while singing the Jaws theme song, and Katie thinks its hilarious, in fact thanks to Aunt Izzie Katie now just calls him "da-na, da-na, da-na". Watch the video and you will see what I mean!

This Week In Katie (and Tripp)

Monday night Katie and Daddy had hot dogs and strawberries out on the deck, yay it's finally warming up !!!

A Day of Art

Today we had an unexpected day of coloring. I would blame it primarily on the cold weather that kept us inside most of the morning, but Katie has shown a lot more interest, recently, in coloring of all kinds. I would recommend the easel that Grandma and Grandpa Burt got Katie for her birthday, it's made by Melissa and Doug, and she really is making some masterpieces on it!

Not overly happy that I wanted to interrupt her coloring with a picture.

After nap we did get outside for some sidewalk chalk drawing.

Again, not wanting to be bothered by my camera.

Happy Mother's Day (Pt. 1)

This morning we went over to my parents house for a nice pancake breakfast. As you can see we tried and tried to take a good group picture, but it was a greater feat that one might think!! We have blinkers, people not paying attention and to top it all off a camera that for some reason can't take indoor pictures...........oh well, better luck with the group photo next year!

Happy 85th Birthday Great-Grandpa!!

Today we travelled over to Narvon, Pennsylvania, in the heart of Amish country, to wish Nat's grandfather a happy 85th birthday. The party was at 2pm so Katie took her afternoon nap in the car and as you can see in the picture above she was not fully awake when we arrived!

Now to most people that wouldn't seem odd because most kids watch "Dora The Explorer" but Katie has never seen the show so we all had a good laugh that she pulled that name out of nowhere.

May Fair

Tonight we went to the May Fair at Grandma Burt's school, Mazie Gable Elementary School in Red Lion, Pa. As you can tell by the pictures the playground was the biggest hit, in fact she didn't want to do anything else besides run around and go down the slide. We actually didn't participate in any of the scheduled activities, maybe next year?!
