The Week that was.....

This past week we have been very busy, not like that's anything new. The picture above is Katie at her first tap lesson at the Jewish Community Center, as you can see she was very excited!
This past Saturday we went down to Brogue to celebrate Heritage Days at the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad. The building above is the old post office, train station, general store and telephone station. Pretty cool.
Grandma Burt helping Katie make a sock puppet.
This is the open electric train we rode, it was really cool, but I was glad that I had an almost 4 year old and not a 2 year old. (I was a little nervous about the little ones falling out!)
She liked the train!
Muddy Run Creek on a beautiful Autumn day.

Walking up the train track with her socks pulled up and her sock puppet on her arm.
Checking out a "big" train.
Trying to steer the train.
Fun, fun!
Last weekend we drove over to Downingtown to visit Aunt Christy and Uncle Jarrett. We went out to lunch with them and then they took us over to a local farm that makes their own ice cream. It was a cute little farm with some animals for Katie to check out and the ice cream was delicious!
Uncle Jarrett and Katie checking out some cows.
Nat and Katie.
They had a flavor called "Katie's Cookie Dough Chip", but she still went with the strawberry!
Waiting for her ice cream.
Yum.
She fell asleep on the way home listening to Madonna.....hilarious!
Katie's newest trick is falling out of bed and then falling back to sleep on the floor, I guess she's tired.
Katie and I also participated in a Mommy and Me cupcake decorating class at a new all-natural bakery in York. Katie and I both had fun decorating the cupcakes, even more fun eating them!

The Good and The Bad......

This past week has been very interesting. It started off with Katie at the pediatrician getting tested for whooping cough, she didn't have it (thank goodness), and ended with some fun with her Trippy. The picture above is of Katie doing one of her breathing treatments. Even though she ended up not having whooping cough she still had a nasty cold and was having breathing problems, her one left over issue from being a preemie. It took about 5 days to shake the cold but today she has been cough free and back to her crazy, normal self.
Friday night was the annual "Back to School Picnic" at York Country Day School. Last year it was cold and rainy for the picnic so we were all crammed into the schools gymnasium but this year it was sunny, well mostly, and we were able to play outdoors! They had an inflatable slide, which the kids loved, live music, free ice cream and tons of food; we really love the small family feeling we get at YCDS!
After watching the bigger kids she realized that she could take a big jump at the top and slide the rest of the way down, a little scary for Mommy to watch!
Enjoying a cupcake.
Katie and Nat at the head of the ice cream line, one kid yelled "Free Ice Cream" and every kid turned on a dime and ran towards the truck! It was hilarious.
Her favorite chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles.
Katie, Cooper and Brandon enjoying their ice cream.
Just happy.
Saturday morning we went over to Izzie's house to play with Tripp.
Katie blowing raspberries on Tripp's belly, he thought it was so funny!
Tripp with Grammy's reading glasses on.

The end of summer....

Labor Day around here means the end of summer and beginning of the school routine. Luckily for us the Country Club has a great Labor Day celebration with BBQ and fireworks and our last chance to hang outside with our friends up at the club.
Lia, Lydia and Katie having fun running around after dinner.

She then moved over to watch them with Daddy.
Some pictures I took of the fireworks...........happy end of summer everyone!

Family Reunion!!

The Sunday before Labor Day always means one thing in this family, Di Angelo Family Reunion!! This year was by far the best one yet, the weather was a sunny 74 degrees, there were no bees or bugs, the food was fabulous and Katie was just about as good as can be!
Someone brought chocolate cupcakes, can you tell?
It was also Grandma and Grandpa Burt's 40th Wedding Anniversary and they brought along their wedding album for everyone to see. Here Grandma Lucia (Katie's great-grandma) and cousin Alex share a laugh and a memory.
Here is our family picture, the Lucia family. Grandma Lucia has 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. (There are 6 people missing from the picture, can you imagine if everyone showed up?)
