After all of the black and blue pictures I thought I would post some cute ones, just to remind me and everybody else that she isn't a bruiser! Look at that cute face, what a sweet little girl!!!!

Black and Blue

Check out the eyelid; I think it's looking worse as the days go by!
Things are just getting worse here for other reasons too, her teeth are bugging the crap out of her; literally. She has the worse case of diaper rash that I've ever seen and she can't stop going #2!! On top of that she is eating a lot less, I think because it hurts her to chew, and she has gotten very clingy (she cried when the cable guy tried to give her a "high five").
So, yep, it's a bit crazy around here but I have to admit the extra 22 lbs. of warmth I'm carrying around lately has me reminiscing of days with little baby Katie and how much I miss being attached to someone. The bitter and the sweet; I love watching her grow but I wish she would stay little forever, that isn't possible right?! Aahh, motherhood, the ultimate catch 22.......

These are just some updated pictures from the post below; here is Katie Monday morning at 8:15am.

Oops she did it again!

I guess she's just clumsy like her Mother because this is becoming a weekly occurrence!

Katie was rocking on her rocking chair, stood up to get out of the chair, missed her footing and fell face first into her activity cube. (It's wood with nice corners!!) These pictures don't do the bruise justice, this all happened Sunday afternoon and that's when I took the pics, this morning, Monday, her eyelid is swollen and she has a nice shiner.

On the bright side of things she is still her happy go lucky self and went right back over to the rocking chair after the incident, we did move the activity cube out of the way though!! I hope everybody has a good week, I'll try and get another good picture of my little linebacker!

New Tooth!

With all of that drool you know something must be going on in that mouth!!

Today tooth number 8 came through, her left lateral incisor to be exact. (That's the bottom tooth next to the center two teeth.) Nat was able to feel inside her mouth for only a second, she's really sensitive about that right now, and he definitely felt the tooth on the left but thinks he the one on the right might be in too; I'll check tomorrow.

Nothing else too exciting besides teeth popping out. We did get outside for about ten minutes today to play, around 4pm it was sunny and about 40 degrees so we ran up and down the sidewalk. The girl loves to run!

I'll let you all know about more teeth as they arrive! Stay warm and enjoy the rest of the week!

Lookin' Good!

Like the shiner?!

Katie fell on top of her play cube and smacked the corner of her eye on the corner of the cube. Personally I think the bruise goes nicely with the broccoli and cheese on her shirt. And lastly we are getting some crazy hair around here too, it's coming in thick and curly and starting this weekend Katie is switching to morning baths so we can stop looking like an unkempt child! I just thought you would all enjoy the complete package of beauty, what a mess!!!

My Genius!

As you know Katie is a genius, of course I know you all already knew that, and today she decided to show off a bit with sorting shapes. The little red car that her Uncle Jarrett and Aunt Christy got her for Christmas has a shape sorter in the front (picture above) and today while Nat and I were finishing dinner we looked down and lo and behold Katie had figured out how to put the blue circular piece into the circle shaped hole.

Genius!!!

I must admit she couldn't figure out the triangle and the square she got in about 3 times out of 10, but I'm still taking it as a big brain moment for my little Einstein!

(Oh and I understand that maybe she should have figured this out already but I'm still thinking she's gifted; tell me you don't think that about your kids!!!)

SNOW!!

We went frolicking in the snow today, oh yea that's right FROLICKING!!

Once again we were supposed to get a dusting of snow and we have about 3-4 inches currently on the ground. Nat came home from work early, the same time Katie woke up from her nap so we went directly outside to play. We stayed out for about 15-20 minutes or about the amount of time for Katie's gloves to slip off of her hands and get them wet and cold. We had a blast though, running up and down the sidewalk and falling in the snow.

Have I said lately that I LOVE MY LIFE!!!!

Eating at the table...

Today I decided that I wanted Katie to join me at the table for lunch, no more highchair tray for her! We had chicken salad sandwiches and apple sauce and watched the snow falling outside of the sliding glass door. It was fun having her right there with me and she handled it pretty well, although she did to try and slide out of her chair when she was done, which was interesting with chicken salad all over her hands.

The other big news was that Katie had her first dentist appointment yesterday. We went to see Dr. Angie, who is a pediatric dentist, and it was not only a big learning experience but I really think Katie enjoyed it, they had a ton of toys, games and a play kitchen with a phone that Katie tried to steal! A pediatric dentist does a simple tooth check and cleaning, which Katie loved (I think it was vibration on her gums) and they give you suggestions and ideas on how to keep her new pearly whites clean. It was a short visit and we did find out that the chip on her front tooth wasn't really a chip but incomplete formation of enamel and that it will have no effect on her adult teeth. We were given a prescription for Flouride, York doesn't Flourinate their water, and told to come back in a year.

Ok well Katie and I are going to go and watch the snow fall, hopefully there will be enough to go outside and roll around in!!! Have a great day!!

Funny Farm

Well Katie and I could not stop laughing today!! I posted a video below of just how giggly she was, it was side-splitting and of course I started laughing so hard that the whole situation got even more funny, a downward spiral of hilarity if you will. I wish there was more of a story to tell but in a nut shell it was just a funny afternoon.

(and the mess on her shirt is from some macaroni and cheese that we had from lunch, don't judge me!)
