Fun Day!

Katie out riding her tricycle, it's getting a little too small for her!
Off she goes......
Today Katie and I went over to Lancaster to the Dutch Apple Theatre to see the play Aladdin Jr. She LOVED it! The place was cute, they mostly do dinner theater, but four times a year they do children's theater that includes short plays with lunch. Aladdin Jr. was the Disney version of Aladdin cut down to a 60 minute play, with most of the scary scenes deleted! Overall it was a big hit, Katie was a little scared of Jafar in the beginning but as soon as Jasmine came on stage we were fine. We weren't allowed to take any pictures during the performance so all pictures are from the lunch before the show.
Katie was happy to see cupcakes with sprinkles on the dessert table.
Giving it a two thumbs up!
Katie on stage.............aaaaahhhh.
I told her to smile for a picture and she wouldn't, so I said but Grandma Lucia wants to see you smile, and she did!
They played kids music while we were eating and wouldn't you know a Hi-5 song came on, so she had to get up and dance!
Yes, she's even cute when she's bad, here she is under the table!
The only picture I got after the show was of her getting autographs. I asked her if she wanted to get a picture with Jasmine and she buried her head into my legs and said no. I think she was a little shy!

The 4th and 5th of July.

For the 4th of July our neighbors Heather and Brandon were nice enough to invite us over for some desserts and drinks and then to watch the fireworks from their back deck (they have an awesome view)! The night started off badly for Katie when she kept getting her hair caught in the velcro of Chase's bounce house, we eventually had to ban her from the bounce house and that was after we had to cut her hair out of the velcro..ugh.
A little squeeze from Chase.
Katie taking our picture.
Julia grabbing for Heather's refreshment.
The kids taking a yogurt break.
Sweet baby Julia.
Chase and Maddux taking a juice break.
Thank goodness the Marquis family had some sparklers, they really made the night fun!
Evy.
Big Guy RJ!
Chase making a circle.
Three armed Katie making a circle...I love the slow capture setting on my camera!
Cool.
Evy and RJ making squiggly lines.
Zig-zag.
Love it!
I wish I would have gotten the whole thing!
Me and Katie watching the fireworks.
RJ, Maddux, Katie and Evy awaiting the show!
I just thought this was cute, Katie taking a picture of the fireworks.
Today Heather, Shawn and I took the kids up to Chocolate World in Hershey. It is extremely hot here, about 98 degrees right now at 4pm. Yuck! So we packed up the kids and took a little trip for some air conditioned fun.
Katie and the Kiss.
The kids, Julia (a little freaked out by the Kiss), Chase, Olivia, Michael and Katie.
Katie and Chase holding hands waiting for the ride.
Two thumbs up for the Reeses race car!
Katie, Olivia, Michael, and Chase holding hands back to the chocolate ride.
Leading the way.
The kids waiving to the cow at the start of the ride.
Heather, Julia and Chase at the end of the ride. I think between the long weekend, the heat and the drive we almost all fell asleep on the ride.

Happy 4th of July, well almost!

Today was our neighborhood's annual 4th of July parade, we decided to hold it on the 3rd this year because of the 4th being a Sunday and knowing we would have a low turnout when competing with Church! Enjoy the pictures!
Katie and her Daddy.
Our little family.
Getting ready to go.
Tripp and Katie ready to start the parade.
Trying to wrangle the kids into parade form.
Katie waving good-bye.
The Oosterveen boys.
Chase and Julia, or the back of Julia anyway.
And the bikers are off!
Heading down the street.
The firetruck leading the kids back up the hill.
Nat pulling the kids up the final hill.
So this man, who lives in our neighborhood, was passing out Frizbee's and stickers with the Olympic logo on it, along with USA and a flag. Kristin, who is talking to him in this picture, asked him where he got all of the items and it turns out he is a gold medal winner from the 1948 Olympics in London! How cool is that?! I think Katie and I are going to take a walk down to his house with a Sharpie and have him sign our Frizbee!
He also passed out megaphones, of course for obvious reasons we will be hiding them.
Heather and Julia, beautiful, just like Mommy.
Little Dylan.
Trying to find every last drop of apple cider.
Me and my little guy.
Katie enjoying her annual Spongebob popsicle, thanks to the Chilly Dilly's truck.
Tripp in his adorable outfit.
Katie and Grammy.
Pop and Tripp.
Chase enjoying his popsicle too!
Grammy and her grandbabies.
Tripp enjoying the day!
Getting some cousin love.
Evy, with her arm around Katie, decided to show Katie how to throw ice down the sewer drain. Why? Who knows, but they had fun doing it!
