Sunday, Funday

This morning Sheri and her mom decided to paint the living room so to make life a little easier we decided to take the kids outside and run them around, away from the paint!! As you can see from the first picture Maddux is getting sick of me always having my camera out!

Not that Katie is in love with the camera either?!

Nat was nice enough to fire up the grill and make us all some hot dogs, of course Katie and Maddux get the special seats.

I was playing around with my camera and took this picture of Maddux and loved that his hair was so blonde that it faded in with the sunlight.

Later on in the afternoon we went to Nat's cousin Jessica's high school graduation party. Jessica will enter the University of Pittsburgh this fall as an engineering major and will also be a football and basketball cheerleader, not a shabby combination?! Katie always has fun at their house because, as you can see in the pictures, they have a POOL! Nat got in to play with her and they played for about an hour until she could no longer resist the call of cake.....enjoy!

This afternoon we were planning on going to the pool when a random thunderstorm popped up. So we called off the pool, invited Maddux over to play and ended up having a better time that we expected! Notice that in most pictures these two are almost naked, what's up with that?!

I'm pretty sure we have said repeatedly, "no throwing sand"!

More Adventures....

Today Sheri and I decided to take the kids to Chuck E Cheese to see what they thought of the place. The best I can say is that Katie liked it and Maddux was not a huge fan, human sized mechanical puppets are kind of weird?! Lucky for us we went early, 9:30am, so we didn't have to fight any crowds or spend money on lunch so our outing wasn't too expensive for what we got! Katie did seem to have fun trying everything once or twice, but when I offered up the chance to go to the pool she ran towards the doors!!

This is actually a funny picture for two reasons. The first reason is that when given the opportunity to ride a real horse she cried and secondly this was actually a game where you had to steer your horse around an obstacle course and somehow she finished the course within the time alloted...........hum.......has she been secretly taking riding lessons?!

Moments after getting stung by a wasp. Ugh, yes that really happened. She is somewhat fascinated by insects and bugs and saw a wasp floating in the pool, picked it up and the dang thing stung her. She wailed for about 30 seconds and then decided she would rather play in the pool instead of freaking out, that's my girl!!

Fun Day

Today we had an awesome day. First things first, Katie went to the movie theater for the first time and sat through a whole kids movie! The West Manchester Mall here in York is showing older movies for free on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10am and today they were showing one of Katie's favorites, "Horton Hears A Who". We got there right at 10am and climbed up to one of the higher rows of seats, furthest from the screen. Katie was instantly in love with the fold down seats, basically because she wasn't heavy enough to keep the seat from sandwiching her and that was hilarious. (I had to keep my leg somewhat on her seat the whole time to keep from distracting her.) The movie started about five minutes after sitting down and she was hooked instantly, I don't think she blinked for about 10 minutes! Luckily the movie was only about an hour and fifteen minutes long so there wasn't too much fussing about, it also helped that I had animal crackers and fruit snacks! How much fun, next week they are showing "Space Chimps" so I'm sure we will have another fun movie experience!!
