Just sayin' HI!!

It's been a pretty slow week around here, so sorry but not much to report?! The picture below is Katie wearing the new bobux shoes that Tilly and family got her for her birthday, Katie loves them!!! I guess once again I was left in the dark about something cool, I really haven't missed too much, but diggity dang these shoes are great! In case you don't know about them they are soft soled, like slippers, but she doesn't slip when she's running on the hardwoods (LOVE IT!). Ok maybe I'm making a big deal about these shoes but they are so cute, stylin' and Katie hasn't tried to pull them off. YAY!!!!

I took this picture today while Katie and I were playing in the kitchen, I just thought it was a good one. I guess after taking a million pictures of her one was bound to be a winner!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope everybody had a very happy Thanksgiving!! We had fun in Lancaster at Grandpa Burt's house, we ate a ton and got to see some of Nat's cousins that we unfortunatly only get to see once a year. Above is a picture of Aunt Christy, Uncle Jarrett and Katie. Katie had so much fun playing with Uncle Jarrett today, Aunt Christy was a bit jealous but that's ok when she's old enough to know where the cute outfits come from she's be Aunt Christy's best friend!! Below is a picture of Nat, Jarrett, Christy, Me with my Katie, and cousins Michael, Katie and Brian, a mini family reunion. The good thing is we won't have to wait another year to see them because Christy and Jarrett's wedding is only 6 months away!!

I don't understand why Katie was so happy about riding in the car but I took about ten pictures of this smiling, toothy grin. I guess she just loves to travel!

Not a big Santa fan!!

Today I took Katie to the mall to meet Santa Claus and man am I glad we beat the holiday rush! Sure she looks normal in the picture, what you don't see is the distraught little face staring at me as if to say, "Mommy, why are you making this strange, crazy looking man hold me?". Thank goodness they had this cloth book on hand that I made Santa read to Katie, yes I made him!! At least her little tear filled eyes were looking at the book and not piercing my heart. Alright, I might be exaggerating, but she did cry a lot and was not to happy with her first encounter with Santa.

Today we went and tagged our Christmas tree, it's the one that Nat and Katie are standing in front of below. It was pretty cold, about 42 degrees outside, but luckily there were a bunch of good trees left so we didn't have to wander too long. We are hoping that the tree looks as good in our house as it did at the farm, but somehow we know that it won't be that straight once it enters our front door! (why is that?)

Takin' a little trip....

So today we went back to the NICU for a "Thank You" visit with all of Katie's old nurses. It was short, they are extremly busy, but sweet. Everybody remembered her and couldn't believe how big she was and that she was walking. It was strange but Katie was smiling the whole time she was there and went right to her old nurse Claudia and reached for her to pick her up. Upon being held she put her head down on Claudia's chest, just like a snuggle; she remembered her care. It was precious and reaffirms my belief that NICU nurses are Angels sent from Heaven!!

After our visit Katie and I made plans to go out for dinner, Nat is working late, but since it was only 3:45pm we had to waste some time so we decided to go to Ross and just look around. I had my camera and took video of Katie strolling through the store, she's a confident walker now, not too much stumbling. She really liked all of the mirrors and had to stop and look at herself when she walked by, I can't believe I have taught her vanity so young?! Anyhow we walked for about 30 minutes and then went to Chili's for some chow. I had a burger and ordered Katie chicken fingers but shocker of all shockers she only wanted what I had so we split a burger. It was fun, now bath time!!!!

Giving Kate Chocolate!!

Here is Katie's first chocolate chip cookie, she loved it and ate the whole thing. We had so much left over from the birthday party that I thought I would give her a taste, I didn't realize that she'd like it this much. (Notice I didn't cut it up or anything, she took it right out of my hand whole!!)

Here is what Katie looks like after chocolate milk. She wasn't drinking her milk so people suggested that I put a little Nesquik powder in the milk; yep that worked!! Again take note that she is stripped down and has the thickest bib on her that we own, she now sucks the milk out of her sippy so hard that she can't swollow it all and it goes EVERYWHERE!! She's a nut, but she loves milk now and cries when her sippy is empty so I guess it's worth the mess. Kids are the best!!!

Birthday Party!!

Here are some pictures from Katie's 1st birthday party on Saturday the 10th. We had about 35 friends and family members here at the house for cake, ice cream and of course PRESENTS!!! Everyone was extremely generous and our house is now full of new toys and clothing for Katie to enjoy for the whole year long. Katie did really well with all of the noise and excitement, I have a feeling we have a little pary animal on our hands!!! Thanks again to everyone, especially Grandma, Grammy and Great-Grandma for the food!!

More Birthday Party!!

Addison Jane Scott

Here is Addison, Karen's new little angel!! She was born Thursday November 9th and weighed in at 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 20.2 inches long. She was just a little snuggle bunny the whole time we visited, she fell asleep in Heather's arms and made the cutest little poses while she slept. Congrats to Karen and Andrew, she's perfect!!!

More Birthday....

Katie's new chair from us; she sat in it for about five seconds and then got up and sat on the floor. Hummmm....
She liked the cake!!!! (Blue icing not the greatest idea I've ever had?!)

This was the cake we got for tonight, the fish are actually magnets!! I know it's not very girly or birthday oriented but I had already ordered a big cake for her party so I just picked a pre-made cake up at the grocery store, and she does like fish.

Katie and the balloon

It's 10am here at the Burt household which means we are up from nap #1 already, we are early rise and shiners here! My parents just sent Katie a single pink rose with a smiley face balloon and let me tell you, this girl loves her some balloons!! Enjoy! (Oh and we have had the balloon for all of 10 minutes and I just got back from retieving it off of the ceiling for the third time!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Today is Katie's 1st Birthday!!! Can you believe it's been one whole year already, too fast for me! I'll be taking pictures all day long and posting them, maybe even a video or two, who knows?! I took this picture at 6:30am after breakfast, sorry about the crazy hair on both of us. mornings around here aren't too productive.

The Twins!!!!

Here are two sweet little girls, Elizabeth Helen (Libby) and Alaina Diane (Lainey) were born October 23rd in Clarion, Pa. to my friends Christina (Tilly) and Dave. Aren't they adorable!!!Both girls were having some breathing and eating issues due to being born a bit early so they were in the NICU in DuBois for 8 days but they are now home and sleeping and eating nicely for their parents who also have a two year old son Ben that is already asking if he can wrestle the babies!! I have seen a few pictures of the girls and so far I can tell them apart in every one so that should make feeding and diaper changing a bit easier on everybody; I know Mimi (Tilly's Mom) was worried that she wouldn't be able to tell them apart!! I can't wait until they all come home to York for Christmas so I can see what holding a two-pack of babies is like, and to see them as a family of FIVE!!!

Just One Week.........

It was one week ago that I posted the movie showing Katie talking her first steps as a walker; now she's up and moving fast! I just took this video after lunch and before nap, sorry about the crazy hair (she had shells and cheese for lunch and more than a little cheese made it into her hair!!) Someone tell me I at least have a month or so before running???? (Feel free to lie to me)

Just Ducky!!!

I hope everybody had a happy Halloween, ours went as well as we could have expected. Our neighborhood had a little parade at 5:30pm followed by Trick-or-Treat at 6pm, which coincidentally is the same time as Katie's bedtime so we had a bit of a grumpy ducky on our hands. She made it through the parade and promptly flew the coup to night-night land. Nat and I had a good time handing out candy to the kids and chatting with our neighbors, I already can't wait for next year!!
