Happy 2nd Birthday Katie!!!!

Today we had a smaller birthday party for Katie here at our house, only about 25 people versus about 50 the previous year. (Much more managable!!) Here are some pictures from the party and yes Katie does go commando half way through the party; she went downstairs to bounce and the dress got in her way, the dress never made it back on to her body!! Oops.....

Now back to Katie.....

It is GORGEOUS outside today, 70 degrees currently. I just took these pictures of Katie enjoying our version of the great outdoors, the backyard! Tomorrow is her big day, Birthday #2, so there are more fun pictures on the way, plus more Tripp........he won't be able to make it to the big party, but next year we will have his 1st and Katie's 3rd in the same weekend!! YAY!
Laughing at me, laughing at her trying to drink and draw......she wasn't too good at it!

More Tripp!!

Aunt Sarah holding her 1st nephew! Sarah caught a noon flight out of Raleigh and was able to get to the hospital around 3:30pm. Uncle Tim and the dogs are driving home tomorrow.......yay!
Aunt Sarah making faces at Tripp, she's actually giving him air kisses but it still looks funny!
Trying to get our attention!

Grammy and Tripp.

Uncle Nat getting his turn holding the football!!

I'm an AUNT!!!!

Here he is, my nephew, Douglas Allen Barton III, our little Tripp. He came into the world by C-section, Liz was only in labor for about 4 hours and his little heartbeat started dipping with her contractions so they just took her in for an emergency section at 1:30am. Mom, Dad and baby all came out beautifully and everybody is healthy and happy. I'm heading back in to the hospital now to get some more snuggle time but rest assured that these won't be the last pictures from the hospital!!
Right after he was born, taking him to get weighed and measured.

Under the warming lights.

Trying to be awake.

How cute!!

Tagging Our Christmas Tree

Today my parents, Nat, Katie and I went out to tag our Christmas tree, can you believe it's that time already? We had a nice crisp morning to do our tagging and luckily this year we went early enough in the season that we didn't have to look for too long to find our trees, the real trick will be finding them again in about 6 weeks when all of the trees have tags on them!

Us in front of our tree.
Pop, Katie and Grammy going to hunt for a tree.

Katie and Daddy checking them out.

I think she liked the sharp needles, she kept touching them very gently and then running away.

Happy in her scavaging.

This is what she looks like when I jump out from behind a tree and scare her!

Katie and Pop going for a run down through the starter trees, and in case you were wondering they went almost to the end of the field and then ran back.......they will both nap well today!

Moving Aunt Christy and Uncle Jarrett

This morning we took a little trip over to Grandma and Grandpa Burt's house to help them get some of Aunt Christy's stuff out of the house because she and uncle Jarrett finally MOVED!!! YAY!! Christy and Jarrett have been building their house for what seems like forever, but now that it's done and the paperwork has been signed (totally offical) it was time to get all of the stuff out of Mom and Dad's house. Of course all Katie really cared about was playing in the little moving van/trailer thing and is now covered head to toe in black soot, it was a little dirty!!
She didn't want to get out.

Happy in her trailer......not a good sentence to repeat!

Trying to help Daddy move more stuff in.

Giving Aunt Christy some hugs.

Playing with Grandma Burt's flowers, can you believe how good they look in November?

She had to touch them.

Pointing out the fingers on the little boy, she went on to point out the eyes, nose, knees and feet too!
