North Carolina and More.

A week ago today, Sunday the 25th, Katie, my mother and I took off on a little road trip down to Raleigh, North Carolina to visit my sister Sarah and her husband Tim. As you can see by the picture above Katie was really excited to spend some time with her "Auntie Sarah", as she is now called, and her uncle Tim.
Sarah and Tim took us over to Durham to see the Sarah P. Duke gardens at Duke University. It was a beautiful setting, acres of flowers with a little pond in the middle. We went primarily to feed the ducks, but I'm glad we went to see all of the flowers, especially when they had a Dolly Parton rose, yippie!!
Katie taking the loaf of bread down to feed the duckies!
Yum!
Katie on a butterfly chair, just like the one we saw at the Hershey Gardens.
A big thumbs up for Duke University!
Katie decided to start swimming with full arm strokes while we were in Raleigh.
Both arms.
The next day we went to Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh, which was a great hands-on museum and Katie had a blast!
Katie studying up to be a doctor.
Checking for Grammy's heartbeat.
Taking a ride on a dolphin.
A cool, and huge, pirate ship that I had to call a sail boat so she would get on it. I guess she's scared of pirates now!
Playing at the water table.
Watering some flowers.
Taking a pizza order at the pizza shop.
Getting her pizza ready to deliver.
On her delivery bike.
She's money baby!
A cool observation point overlooking a park in downtown Raleigh.
Making a craft with Pop.
Her "flag".
A mesh overhang that freaked out Aunt Sarah, it was open to the first floor about 25 feet below.
It didn't seem to bother Katie as much.
She found a slide in the museum too!
Sarah's birthday dinner, with a sticker from Katie that said "Awesome Aunt".
Last weekend, July 31st, we took Katie to Flinchbaugh's Orchard for a summer festival. It was a lot of fun, there was a hay maze for the little kids and a 4 acre corn maze for the bigger kids. (We didn't get to the corn maze) There was a bunch of other things to do to, but you will see them in a bit!
Katie making her way around the maze.
She really liked it!
In front of a sunflower garden.
Playing in a baby pool filled with corn kernels, I was shocked at how much fun she thought that was.
We ran into the Oosterveen boys along the way, cute.
Baby Dylan.
The kids enjoying the corn/sandbox.
Katie is in full dress up mode, she wants to be a princess ALL of the time. We had gotten some hand-me-down princess outfits but was quickly growing out of them, or ruining them, so we invested in a new Princess Aurora outfit and a new Princess Ariel (her favorite of the moment).
