More Fun and Games...

Saturday morning we went over to my parents house to play with Tripp and Grammy, Izzie and Goug (Uncle Doug), were playing in a golf tournament so Grammy was taking care of Tripp for the day. The above picture is of the kids sharing some cereal puffs, now that Tripp is figuring out this crawling thing Katie isn't so keen of his ability to steal her food!
Katie feeding Tripp, her way of keeping him away from her food!
Yum!
Later in the afternoon we went over to Nat's parents house for a little BBQ and fun. Aunt Christy was home for a little visit, Uncle Jarrett is in China (again), and Katie always loves to see her Aunt Christy. The big fun of the day was Ladder Ball, a game Grandma got for Grandpa for Father's Day, it was so, so much fun and we secretly think Nat has been taking private lessons, he was awesome!
Grandma Burt and Great-Grandma Lucia playing ladder ball, see they are smiling....it was a blast!
Aunt Christy showing off her form.
Happy Katie on the swing, her favorite thing to do at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Katie and Great-Grandma enjoying a drink after a fun day of games!

Pickin' Blueberries

Today we packed into Sheri's minivan and took a trip to Blueberry Hill in Red Lion, Pa. a six acre blueberry farm, where we decided to pick our own dessert! The kids were really good, sure they ate more blueberries than they put into the container, but still no one ran away and no one threw a fit.
Katie picking some yummy treats.
Showing off her find.
Maddux sampling his find.
Taking a look at the berries.
Sneaking another one in..........he LOVES his "blues".
Our crew, Sheri, her cousin Amanda, Maddux, Katie and my Mom.
Katie taking a goldfish break, she got over the blueberry craze faster than Maddux.
Sheri and Maddux an their bowl of blueberries.
The best part of picking blueberries is baking delicious treats, here is Katie keeping an eye on the blueberry muffins. Breakfast is taken care of!
Dessert for Mommy and Daddy, Blueberry cobbler, the vanilla ice cream is in the freezer!!

Outside with Maddux.....

Tonight we were over at Maddux's house playing.........these are the games that they play.
The kids decided they could roll off of the end of the picnic table.....what fun!
Jumping off of the patio table seemed to be a better idea than rolling off of it.
Katie and the "giant" basketball!
Maddux chugging his yogurt.
Now that's how you get it done!
Aahh.
Cooper gladly takes care of the leftovers.
Maddux pushing Katie, yeah, pushing.

Can you feel the love?!

Grammy and Pop are FINALLY back from China! Whew! Here are some pictures of our visit with them the morning after they returned.......it's gets a little crazy!!
Katie being gentile with Tripp, yeah right?! She really does love him!
See, this is how cute they really are!
Okay so Mom got this Mickey Mouse suit from someone at school because she knew how much Katie loves her Mickey. It says size small, but it is really too big for Katie.......Liz on the other hand thought she could fit into it............here is the result of that poor decision.
Feel free to laugh at her!
Katie swimming in the costume, it really was huge! (Maybe when she's 6 or 7 it will fit?)
Grammy and Katie.
Katie hamming it up for the camera. She's really perfecting that smile.
And finally, and randomly, a crazy Katie covered in macaroni and cheese. What a nut! (I guess the family is full of them!)

Nixon Park

This morning Katie and I took off for Nixon Park down in Jacobus, Pa. Okay so we have a park in York County named for President Nixon, yikes, but it is such a great little place for kids that I'm just glad we have it here! The park sits on 170 acres of hilly land, perfect for walks, hikes, picnic lunches and stomping in the creek and this week is reptile week, so I knew Katie would be more than interested. Above you can see Katie very interested in the insect walls, bugs give me the willies but for some reason this girly girl loves them!
Katie petting "Aaron" the snake. Now you would think that instead of asking his name I would have asked what kind of snake he was, but I didn't, bad Mommy! Any guesses?
This bee hive has been one of my favorites since I was little. The bees were just beginning to really start making the honeycomb and Katie was very interested in hearing and feeling the humming of the bees.
This was a magnet wall with pictures of different native Pennsylvania animals, birds, insects and reptiles. She kept taking the mouse, owl and squirrel off the board and putting them back on, I guess they were her favorites.
Aahhh, a creek!
Showing off her rocks, as she would find them.
This one was her favorite, because it was "huge" and made a big splash.
Chucking rocks.
Taking a stroll along one of the paths, it was a shame that we haven't come earlier, most of the flowers were past their blooming period.
Checking out the creek from another vantage point. She loved being outdoors and playing with her rocks, maybe she gets that from her Uncle Tim, we are going to have to return very soon!

An Annapolis 4th!

After our morning parade, and a good nap, we packed the car and headed down to Annapolis for a picnic and fireworks with the Amsbaugh family. It was the perfect day to be outside by the water and as always we love hanging out with our buddy Addison!!
Katie, Nat, Addison and Andrew getting ready to play in the Bay.
Nat trying to convince Katie that the water was safe.
She did get in and play.
Then there's Addison, who tried to swim away (she'll be 2 in November!).
Everybody looking at Addison floating on her back, that kid is hilarious.
We were all laughing at her floating skills.
Katie waiting to see if she wanted to get back in.
Another highlight of Katie's day was playing with the stones on the Amsbaugh's driveway.
She loved the hammock, but then again, who wouldn't?
At dusk, still going strong!
Waiting for the fire works to start.
Why do I have a feeling the dunce hat is somewhat symbolic?
The Amsbaugh way to keep little ones up for fireworks...........Klondike bars?! It seemed to work, we stayed at the Amsbaugh's until 10pm and then she talked about the fireworks the whole way home, she finally fell asleep at 11:30pm! Party Animal in the works?
