In the pool....

I know you are all thinking, what's with the million pictures a day?!

Well Nat's parents were away in Virginia last week and my parents are over in Europe for the next two weeks so I need to make sure that everyone gets their Katie fix while away. It's a three week run of vacations so be vigilant, there are going to be picures galore!

Today we went next door to play with Maddux before his nap time, in fact we might have prevented his afternoon nap! Oops!

Today we went over to see Grandma and Grandpa Burt, they just got back from the beach and wanted a little time with Katie. Of course we were happy to go, they always feed us good food and Katie loves to play in their backyard. Above is a picture of Katie in her little pool.

Today was the last of our week long getaways, a visit with the Amsbaugh/Scott family in Annapolis. Of course the whole purpose of the trip was to see Karen and Addison, but when Karen's parents offered up a trip on the boat it was really a no brainer! Luckily Katie LOVED the boat, not as much as Addison who just fell asleep, but there was some clapping, "wheee"-ing, and a ton of smiles especially when Dr. A was going fast and hitting some chop . Guess we have to buy a boat now!!!

The Baltimore Aquarium

This morning Nat, Katie and I took off early for the Baltimore Aquarium. The Aquarium opens at 9am so we wanted to get there right as soon as they opened the doors, smaller crowds and no delay at nap time!! Katie seemed to really enjoy the fish, she kept saying "Hi fishies" and "wow", but only the neon fish seemed to get the "wow"'s!!

Katie and Nat looking at the fishies. The Baltimore Aquarium loans out the backpack carriers for the little ones while you are there. It's free and right inside the door, it was the perfect option for us....no running Katie near sharks!!

Nat loved that Katie's screams were directly in his ear. She kept saying "swim", which lead us to believe that she thought she was getting in with the fish for a dip; when we said no to the swimming she got a bit upset!

Katie making noises at the puffer fish. Nat was doing his best to try and spook the puffer to make him blow up like a balloon, like in Finding Nemo, but instead he just got Katie laughing at his noises. Then she decided to chime in!

Katie turned off the engines for about 30 minutes on the way home. She was in the middle of a very intriguing book and just tuckered out!

Just hangin' around...

Today was a quiet day at the Burt household, nothing too important going on so I just took some pictures of Katie watching cartoons. Her hair was super curly today so I felt like I just had to capture it! Tomorrow we are heading down to the Baltimore Aquarium so wish us luck!!

Strasburg Railroad

Today Nat, Katie and I went over to Lancaster County to Strasburg Railroad. This was the first of three day trips we have planned for Nat's week off of work, we are heading to the Baltimore Aquarium Thursday and then down to Annapolis to see Karen and Addison on Saturday. Katie and I both love having Nat home full-time and taking little day trips is actually fun now that Kate is a bit older.

We got to Strasburg around 2:45pm and hopped on the 3pm train. The whole trip is about 45 min. , from Strasburg to Paradise and then back through some beautiful farm land in Lancaster County. Katie seemed to like the train, although I think she got bored of it after about 20 minutes , but she did like to see the "moos" (cows) and the trucks (John Deere tractors).

After our train ride we jumped back in the car for a short ride over to see Nat's Grandfather, his wife Carole and his Uncle Puddy. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with fruit, sandwiches, pastries and strawberry lemonade, yum. We had a nice visit and Katie loved playing in their garden and pointing out all of the "fwowers"(flowers). After about an hour we packed it back up and pointed the car west and headed for home.

Katie is now sound asleep, Nat is hitting golf balls in the backyard and I am plopped down on the sofa resting my feet. Ugh, what a long day. I'll update everybody later on the other big news of the week.....I got a new car!! (09' Corolla)

I'm tired now.......gotta rest......
