Baseball for a cause...

Today we finished off our whirlwind weekend with a little bit of baseball!! The York Revolution celebrated Cancer Survivor Day and our neighbor Pat Doran was selected to throw out the first pitch. (That's him above in the lime green shirt.) Pat was a high school baseball coach here in York for 25 years and was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer in October of 2007. Pat's wife Barb was a teacher of mine and their sons went to school with me, so I was honored to be there to watch as he threw a perfect pitch right over homeplate. It was great to see all of those lime colored shirts with the words "I'm a Survivor" written across the chest, of course it also reminded that my friend Donna didn't get to don a shirt like that long enough.

It was a fun afternoon and Katie got to see her first baseball game, although to be honest we did spend the majority of the time eating and/or playing in the kids play zone. After such a long and busy weekend we had to cut the day short, 9 innings is too long for an 18 month old, and now we are all home resting our weary feet.

What a weekend!!! I hope you all enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them, beautiful weather, family, friends and fun.....is life great or what?!

Our neighbor dude Maddux, he really enjoyed the baseball and the baked beans!!!
