Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!!!

Katie eating her goldfish and sportin' Daddy's hat.

Swinging at Grammy and Pop's house. She was on the swing at her other Grandparents house the night before but it was too dang hot to go outside and take pictures! She loves the swing, can you tell?

She wanted the leaves off of the tree and of course if you ask a Grandparent you'll probably get it!

Cheezin'.

Trying to drink from a glass, as you can tell she's got some learning to do!

Eating Jello for the first time. She needed some help because she couldn't figure out if it was a toy or food and really it became both!

You can't tell from the picture but she really did like it. In fact she ate three pieces!!

Regular Saturday

Just another random Saturday morning when nothing is normal, calm or quiet! It's currently 9:45am, so this is just the beginning of the day and already Katie has gotten into EVERYTHING! Above is a picture of her after she decided that the best way to blow bubbles was to steal the bubble wand from her Father and stick it into her mouth. Yep, she was producing bubbles for about 20 minutes and do you think she cared?? Not at all!!

After running around the backyard in her PJ's we decided it best to strip her down since she was covered in dirt and dew. She found Nat's shoes and began running around the house with them,, who knows if there was a reason, we couldn't figure it out??!!

Finally here is a picture of Katie watching her morning cartoons. She was sitting on her bottom and dancing in place, I don't have a clue what she was doing with her hand, but if you ever watch the Disney Channel and have heard the "Camp Rock" theme song then you know why she was busting a mad groove. She loves her tunes!!

Ok well gotta keep up the chase, she and Nat are throwing balls at each other now. Only one more hour until the pool opens up, whew!!!

Hiya!

We have been pretty busy around here lately, I know I say that a lot, but this week has been crazy! The picture above was from our trip to the library for storytime with Grammy; Katie just moved up to the 18 months-3 year old group so it was a little above her, but we still had fun. We have been spending some much needed time with Grammy and Pop, they are off on another adventure in two weeks so are getting in all of our time now. Yesterday we went shopping for fall clothes for Katie, it was Gymboree's Gymbucks redemption time!!, and we also found a few things for Aunt Liz and her new baby. It was fun, but tiring, and although Katie normally is a "go with the flow" kind of kid she has been throwing tantrums for the past 24 hours so today we are laying low and hanging out at home. Well that's all the time I have for now, Katie is yelling at her blocks again so I better go before we have a bigger issue (like needing a new lamp because someone threw a block and broke it!!). Have a good weekend!!

YAY!!!

Grammy and Pop are home, YAY!!! My parents have been in Europe for three very long weeks and they finally returned to York last night, so bright and early Katie and I paid them a visit. As you can tell Katie was very happy to have her Grammy back and to celebrate the occasion she started to call her "Gammy". Until now she hasn't even attempted to call my Mother anything, she has called my Dad and Nat's dad both "pop" for a while now and last week I was pretty sure she called Nat's Mom "ga-mom", but as for my Mom it was always just a smile. Well this morning after a visit and trip to "Tumble Town", more about that in a minute, I took her home for a nap and as soon as she woke up she looked at me and said "Gammy?". I asked her if she wanted to go see Grammy and she said "Gammy" again, and then she continued to repeat it another 10 times in the car ride back to Grammy and Pop's house. It was all to exciting, we had to go back!!

In other news we did visit Tumble Town today for a very special play date with Tali. Tali's Mom Jen and I have known each other since 1st grade, we lived in the same neighborhood, had all of the same friends and even our siblings were all in the same grades (Liz and Jess, Sarah and Brooks). When my family moved out of the city in 1992 we sort of lost touch, even though we attended the same college, and I really didn't hear from her again. Flash forward to about two months ago when thought the magic of the Internet, ie. MySpace and Facebook, we reconnected and started sending each other emails and finding out about each others lives.

After a bunch of emails and pictures I was thrilled when I found out Jen was coming home for a week to visit her parents. She now lives in Ashville, NC with her husband and two little girls and the her eldest daughter Thalia (Tali), named after Jen's Mom, is only a few months older than Kate. Tumble Town was an easy meeting place and of course the girls LOVED it! Why wouldn't bouncing be fun for a reunion?!

It was great to see Jen and her girls, Addison is 3 months old and she has the most pinchable cheeks, and we both brought our Mom's along since they too were great friends. It's funny how 15 years disappeared within seconds and things that you remember about a good friend, a smile or a laugh are exactly the same as you recall. Of course we are older now, we have children and life has taken us in different directions but she's still the same Jen with the loud laugh, just like her Mother, and is still ready with a funny story just when the conversation begins to lull. I had fun, and so did our Mothers and our Daughters.......three generations of friends.

Tali and Katie in the ball pit, no they weren't eating the balls this time!!

I tried to get them to both look at the camera at the same time, duh.....why would that ever work?!

Katie Bouncing....

Here is Katie on the Moon Bounce at Nat's office picnic. There is more about our day below, but I forgot to post the video in my original posting. Oops?!

Nat's Company Picnic

Today was Nat's annual company picnic down in Elicott City, Md. It was a great set-up, once again, but unfortunatly it was really stinkin' hot. We got to the picnic at 11:30am, which was the official start time, but of course we were the only ones that came at the start time. At first I was upset that no one else was there until Nat's put it together that Katie could have the Moon bounce all to herself, as well as all of the other fun toys. So off we went to sample the fun stuff. By 2pm Katie was so red in the face from constantly moving in 94 degree weather that I made the decision to shut it down, pack it in and head home. We all had a blast and if it would have been about 10 degrees cooler we would probably still be there, bouncing on the Moon bounce!!

Taking a pause from bouncing.

Katie had something in her shoe and kept stopping and saying "yucky", so we had to pause to clean off her feet!

Switching to the playground for a moment and about to head down the slide.

Bouncing.

She enjoyed falling!

Here is an example of how red she got from playing, and this was after only about 45 minutes.

Eating a well deserved cracker!

I made her slow down and take a coloring break, I thought between the heat and all of the bouncing she was going to get sick!

Lunch was a hot dog, corn and 2 cookies. Not too bad?!

The next two pictures are Katie's "catching air" shots. She was really bouncing her heart out!

Look at those cheeks, this is when we called it a day......she was pooped and so was Nat, they are both currently napping!!

More Pool....notice a theme!

(Katie trying to decide which snack she wants, they are identical but in her mind it was a big decision!)

Yesterday we spent 2.5 hours at the pool, yep that's right, Katie is LOVING having a pool!! I only took my camera out for a few minutes but I needed to make sure that my parents get to see how Katie is doing. Oh and on that note her second eye tooth popped out so I am doing much better, thank you. I can tell that she is a much happier baby today and a happy Kate means a happy Mom!

Katie taking a break, there was only a 15 minute break in 2.5 hours, man she loves that pool!

She has become a big fan of the mushroom, the thing that's currently spraying her with water. One day she actually went under it a few times, but she has regressed a bit and now will only run up and touch it. Oh and now she's trying to jump into the pool......FUN for Me!!!

We were playing peek-a-boo behind the chairs and trying to catch a butterfly at the same time, too much activity to try and take a ton of pictures!! Sorry...

TEETH!!!

Currently Katie's gums are red and swollen and although one of her eye teeth has already erupted, the other three are coming in slowly and apparently painfully. I took these pictures in a rare moment of glee, I guess wrecking my family room causes joy in the hearts of toddlers?! I gave her some Motrin about 30 minutes ago and it has seemed to help, she's eating right now which is something she really hasn't done in the past two days. Sure bananas and yogurt are working because they are mushy, but anything she has to chew has been a no-no. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will take a nice nap and then we can go "sim", swim in Katie speak, and hopefully salvage the second part of the day!

Oh and Amy and Matt just found out they are having a little boy!!! YAY for them; Lauren will now learn the thrill of having a younger brother. (Thrill or terror?)

Throwing my throw pillows off of the couch, hummm...maybe that's how they got their name?

What'chu talking about Mama?

At the pool again...

Back to the pool today and guess what?? No RAIN!!!! We actually got to the pool and left without having to duck and cover from thunderstorms passing through, it was awesome! Anyhow, we had fun, Katie is getting a wicked tan and right now, at 5pm, she is back at the pool with Nat. We are raising a water baby!!

She likes to run in the water, fall on her butt and yell "bonk".

At the piano in between dips in the pool, look at that tan!!
